Over recent years, there has been a concerted effort by many organisations to improve the general appearance of the town, to provide a park of which we can all be proud and provide activities and events which “gel” the community. Here are some examples, and further will be added as they evolve.
A lively and well- used centre is essential to any town. There are various elements to achieving this, from getting the groundwork right (creating the kind of planning documents which encourage appropriate developments and land use), to filling the town with colour, improving public facilities, to helping shops and businesses to work together. The Partnership has worked with the local authorities in helping to draft a supplementary planning document for the town, formed a Chamber of Trade to represent local businesses, led a bloom and civic pride effort, and worked with partners such as the Round Table and Town and Borough Councils to organise the Christmas lights switch on for all to enjoy. Work continues to find other ways of improving the town centre.

Milton Park has been the focus of the Milton Park Steering Group, which comprises of residents, the Town and Borough Councils, Groundwork Cheshire and Alsager Partnership. The improvements will take a number of years to complete, as each stage requires funding form the local authorities and other sources, but success is clear when you visit and see the wonderful play area, skate park and improved planting schemes. It is hoped the Park will become a vibrant green space at the heart of the community.
Alsager is surrounded by wonderful countryside which is there to be explored on foot, bicycle and even on horseback! The Partnership plans to highlight some of the routes on a new map, and to work with local agencies to improve access and signage. We will provide updates in the future.

We can only write about what we are aware of, so if you have a project to include, please let us know by contacting info@alsagerpartnership.co.uk
