Opening of the new play area in Milton Park, December 2009 by Cllr Colin Burgess, Mayor of Congleton Borough Council, and Richard Smith of the funding body, WREN.

The club was originally formed in February 1959 and current members were privileged to have seven of the original founder members present at the meeting. The event ,held at Alsager golf and country club,included a series of anecdotes from ex members talking about their past escapades . This included the taking of clothes and equipment to Rome following the earthquake there, taking Thomas the Tank engine down to London for one of the original children in need appeals, and more recently raising over £15,000 in one day for the tsunami appeal. A fine night was had by all.
