Alsager in Bloom 2011
Yet again we are entering the North West In Bloom competition and supporting this year's theme - to plant trees.
We have already worked with volunteers from a number of organisations to plant trees at Wood Park and Linley, which we hope will enhance the area for generations to come. Our local businesses and Town Council are steadfastly in support of our Bloom efforts and we are very grateful to them for giving us financial support to make the town centre displays possible.
Alsager Gardens Association have also become involved and we are very proud of the number and quality of the allotments they manage.
Our local schools also play their part by creating their own gardens and they have also decorated and planted up some lovely pots which we display around the town centre. Take a look around the Civic Centre, Library and Town Council offices to see their wonderful creations.
Milton park is another Jewel in the Crown, and this year we will be showing the judges the newly opened Sunken Garden, which has been restored and improved with access for wheelchairs and prams, and given a new lease of life with fresh planting, and benches. The Milton Park Volunteers give up Saturdays throughout the year to make improvements.
