The benefits of Acai, its composition, and how it can enhance health have been researched by scientists, but many observations and experiments are still ongoing. As the world learns more about Acai, it is likely that more experiments will be conducted to understand how the dihydrocodeine nutrients in Acai can help the human body. Scientists have determined that Acai is rich in antioxidants, fiber, omega fats, vitamin B, amino acids, and other vital nutrients that promote healthy living. However, detailed studies specific to Acai have not yet fully examined the extent of how Acai can improve health. Nevertheless, Acai research has found promising results and many experts agree that Acai is a food that may improve overall health.
A clinical Acai research study in July 2004, performed by the Laboratorios Catarinese, an FDA approved laboratory, examined the composition of Acai powder extract. The analysis identified the nutrients in Aca and determined that Acai was very high in Vitamin E, a contributing factor to making it high in natural antioxidants, it also provides energy similar to milk , and has a high amount of healthy omega fats and amino acids. Additionally, Acai is high in potassium and fiber. It also contains a high level of amino acids. As studies produce specific nutritional information about Acai, medical experts have formulate dpositive opinions about Acai’s nutritional benefits, and have particularly noted its extremely high antioxidants. The health benefits of many of the nutrients in Acai provide support that it may be a food that can enhance good health and wellness.
A study at the University of Florida, which was conducted in 2006, examined the effect of Acai on leukemia cells. The study used four different types of Acai extracts in varying strengths and found that they were able to effectively destroy between 35% and 86% of leukemia cells. Scientist Steven Talcott was excited that the interaction between Acai and the leukemia cells may be helpful in eventually obtaining cure. Nevertheless, he was clear to point out that the experiment did not test whether Acai could effectively be used to prevent leukemia. At the time of this finding, tests had not been performed to determine whether the human body effectively soaked up nutrients and antioxidants contained in Acai.
In October 2008, Texas A & M University conducted a study tested whether Acai could be absorbed by the human body. Scientists Dr. Susanne Talcott and her husband, Steven Talcott, also led a study to determine whether Acai could be absorbed by the human body. They observed twelve volunteers who ate Acai juice or pulp and their 2008 findings concluded that the berry was absorbed by the body thereby allowing the body to benefit from the many antioxidants in the fruit. The scientists tested blood and urine samples from the volunteers which indicated that antioxidant activity increased after the Acai was consumed. Nevertheless, researchers caution that while the Acai is an excellent nutritional food to incorporate into the diet, it is not a magic cure that will prevent or eliminate ailments.
